The Colorado Rockies beat the Houston Astros, 10-7, at Minute Maid Park. Colorado right fielder Marcell Ozuna led the way. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The save went to Justin Garza, number 4 for him. The Astros fall to 9-11 and continue their lackluster start in 2001.

Colorado used the hitting of Deron Johnson to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rockies on top, 5-0. For the game, Johnson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
