Rockies Sneak Past Expos, 1-0
|
Brad Bergesen pitched a gem to lead Colorado to victory over the Montreal Expos, 1-0. Colorado reliever John Cummings snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Danny Patterson shouldered the loss. Montreal falls to 9-8.
The Rockies got a clutch hit from center fielder Andres Torres. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rockies.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Colorado manager Ben Thompson said.
