White Sox Come Up Short at Boston, 2-1
|
Boston Red Sox starter Aaron Small turned in a top-notch performance against the Chicago (A) White Sox at Fenway Park. The result was a win for the Red Sox, 2-1. Picking up the save was Luis Avilan. He's now 24 for 26 in save chances. The Red Sox now have a record of 55-107.
Hal Wagner helped out the Boston cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
Wagner said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
