Baltimore Upended, 7-4, by Boston
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox get after it.
The Boston Red Sox downed the Baltimore Orioles, 7-4, at Fenway Park. The Red Sox were led by Jose Valdivielso. Valdivielso was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2. The last-place Red Sox own a record of 53-106.
Damian Jackson had a big 2-run double for the Red Sox in the bottom of the first inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Lou Fette, who is tied for 2nd in the AL with a 1.10 WHIP, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Sox ahead, 3-0.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Jackson.
