Detroit Gets 3-1 Win
|
Detroit and Texas duked it out and the Tigers came out victorious.
Starting pitcher Luke Weaver gave the Detroit Tigers a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Texas Rangers, 3-1, at Globe Life Field. The Rangers, at 65-93, have lost 4 in a row.
Detroit used the timely hitting of Delino DeShields to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tigers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Texas manager Kyle Shea.
