Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Houston Astros and Cleveland Guardians.

The Houston Astros topped the Cleveland Guardians, 8-5, at Minute Maid Park. Houston designated hitter Larry Biittner was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Houston reliever David Sanders picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Foster Edwards was tagged with the loss.
