Minnesota Twins starter Vern Law found his groove in his team's 5-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Minnesota reliever Rusty Meacham got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Joe Genewich was tagged with the loss. The third-place Twins have won 4 consecutive games.

Minnesota used a timely hit from Eddie Lake to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Twins ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Law.
