Yankees Win, 6-2, Over Philadelphia
|
New York (A) turned a good effort from starter Turk Farrell into a win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Veterans Stadium. The Yankees won the game, 6-2. The Yankees raised their record to 73-81.
Brendan Harris had a big 2-run home run for the Yankees in the top of the second inning. With New York (A) leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Tommy Boggs, who finished 4th in the NL in wins with 17 last year, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 3-0.
"Turk is a gamer," said New York (A) manager Brett Fogerson.
