Ron Kline never let the Giants get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Orioles to a win, 4-1. Kline picked up the win for Baltimore, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Jonny Venters earned his 29th save in 33 tries.
The Orioles got a big at-bat from catcher Jamie Nelson. For the game, Nelson went 2-3 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Baltimore a 1-0 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Kline.
The Giants, at 66-88, have lost 4 straight games.
