Twins Top Giants, 6-0, Behind Rhoden
|
The San Francisco Giants had their hands full with Minnesota Twins starter Rick Rhoden, who frustrated San Francisco hitters while leading Minnesota to a comfortable, 6-0 win. Minnesota raised its record to 83-70 with the win.
Rhoden, who leaned on his slider, allowed no runs on just 2 hits over 8.1 innings for the Twins. For the most part, San Francisco hitters were simply overmatched.
"Rick kept his poise and got the job done," said Minnesota manager Dan Hornbaker. "He was outstanding."
