Twins Shut Out Giants, 1-0
|
In a tight tilt between Minnesota and San Francisco, pitcher Earl Francis was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 1-0 Twins win. Brusdar Graterol picked up the save for Minnesota, his 34th of the year. With the win, the Twins have a record of 82-70.
Lou Marson, who is a four-time Great Glove Award winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Marson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Minnesota up, 1-0.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Francis.
