Astros Blown Out by Rangers
|
The Texas Rangers captured an easy win, 13-3, over the Houston Astros at Globe Life Field. Ichiro Suzuki led the offensive barrage, going 1-for-2 for Texas. Hector Noesi, the winning pitcher, is now 10-12. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while fanning 1 and walking 2. The 7th-place Astros have dropped 4 straight games.
The Rangers got a big hit from center fielder Lance Blankenship. Facing Houston pitcher David Sanders in the bottom of the seventh, Blankenship pounded a grand slam home run to center. His 1st home run of the season put the Rangers ahead, 9-1.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Suzuki.
