Twins Fall Short, 5-4, at New York (N)
|
The New York (N) Mets picked up a win at Shea Stadium, dropping the Minnesota Twins, 5-4. Nabil Crismatt, who is tied for 7th in the NL in wins with 14, was the difference-maker. New York (N) has won 3 straight, while Minnesota has lost 4 in a row.
Mike Schmidt, who is a two-time Great Glove Award winner, helped out the New York (N) cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Minnesota manager Dan Hornbaker.
