Rockies Earn 2-1 Road Win Over Cleveland
|
In a tight tilt between the Colorado Rockies and the Cleveland Guardians, Jerome Williams was the deciding factor. The Colorado right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Williams picked up the win for Colorado , going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 20-6. Greg Bollo recorded the save, making him 20 for 22.
Kendrys Morales, who finished 4th in the NL in doubles with 48 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Morales contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Colorado up, 2-0.
"All my pitches were working," said Williams. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."
The victory gives the Rockies a record of 91-60.
