Giants Earn 3-1 Home Win
|
The San Francisco Giants converted a terrific effort from starter Ben Hendrickson into a win over the Detroit Tigers at Eclipse Park. The Giants won the game by a final score of 3-1. Picking up the save was five-time All-Star Garrett Olson. The Giants improved their record to 65-84 with the win over Detroit.
The Giants got a big at-bat from first baseman Joe Hauser. For the game, Hauser went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 42nd home run of the season gave San Francisco a 2-0 lead.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Hendrickson.
