Varsho Mashes 2 Homers in 4-2 Arizona Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from catcher Daulton Varsho, the 13th overall pick in the 1998 draft, led the Arizona Diamondbacks to a win over the New York (N) Mets, 4-2. The save was credited to Steve Kline, his 4th. The victory gives Arizona a record of 82-66.
With Arizona leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Varsho hit a fastball from Ray Bare for a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Varsho.
