Orioles Turn Back Minnesota, 4-2
|
The Baltimore Orioles got a stellar performance from pitcher Lou Fette, who handcuffed the Minnesota offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Picking up the save was four-time All-Star Jonny Venters. The win boosted Baltimore to 75-73.
Baltimore right fielder Dick Porter helped the Orioles go up, 4-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Porter hit a 2-run single off Minnesota pitcher Jesse Crain.
Said losing manager Dan Hornbaker: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
