Red Sox Lose to Rangers in Walk-Off
|
The Texas Rangers trumped the Boston Red Sox, 7-6, in 11 innings. Texas right fielder Kevin Bass was impactful. He was 3-6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Texas has now won 3 straight, while the Red Sox have lost 9 in a row.
The Rangers got a clutch hit from second baseman Ray Webster. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rangers.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Doug Morton told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
