Slumping Red Sox Lose Again
|
The Texas Rangers wanted a good start from Don Durham -- and he delivered one. The result was a 5-2 Texas win over the Boston Red Sox at Globe Life Field. The winner was Durham. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Charlie Wagner. Felix Heredia converted his 32nd save in 37 tries.
Luis Valbuena dealt the Red Sox a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Texas leading 2-1, Valbuena, who is tied for 9th in the AL in triples with 5, hit a 1-1 curveball for a 2-run single.
Boston manager Doug Morton, after yet another defeat, said: "We need to recalibrate."
Boston is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
