Rangers Win, 12-8, in Extra Frames
|
The Texas Rangers defeated the San Francisco Giants in 11 innings, 12-8, in part because of designated hitter Joe Vosmik. Vosmik was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Rangers. Texas reliever Felix Heredia picked up the win, upping his record to 4-7. Garrett Olson absorbed the loss. The Rangers improved their record to 58-81 with the win over San Francisco.
Garrett Stubbs came through with a big-time hit for Texas. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 8-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Stubbs told the Texas News.
