Diamondbacks Rack Up 7-3 Win Versus Boston
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox.
The Arizona Diamondbacks racked up a win at Chase Field, bumping off the Boston Red Sox, 7-3. Frank Baumann, who started for Arizona, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Baumann. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Charlie Wagner.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fifth inning, but Baumann was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Boston trailing 2-0, Baumann retired Roman Quinn, who grounded out.
With the victory, the Diamondbacks upped their record to 75-59.
