Miami Marlins starter Jerry Robertson kept the St. Louis Cardinals hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-1 win. The winner was Robertson. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Milo Candini. Miami, with the win, climbs to 43-87.

Desmond Jennings, who finished 5th in the NL in stolen bases with 37 in 1991, took St. Louis hurler Milo Candini deep in the bottom of the second. His 3-run home run put the Marlins on top, 4-1. In all, Jennings had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
