Expos second baseman Billy Goodman left his mark on his team's 5-2 win over the New York (N) Mets. Goodman, who is a two-time All-Star, went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks for Montreal in the contest. The Expos have an impressive 84-45 record.
Goodman got the Expos off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single.
"I thought we played a nice game," Goodman told the Montreal Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
