Twins Dump Boston, 4-2, to Win 13th in a Row

The Minnesota Twins tallied a win at Metropolitan Stadium, throttling the Boston Red Sox, 4-2. Starting pitcher Vern Law was a big reason for his team's success. Getting the save was Brusdar Graterol, his 29th. The third-place Twins have won 13 straight games.
Manny Trillo had a big 2-run double for the Twins in the bottom of the third inning. With Minnesota leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Gary Bell, who finished 2nd in the AL in innings pitched with 247.1 in 1991, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Twins ahead, 3-0.
"I like our clubhouse vibe," said Minnesota manager Dan Hornbaker.
