Yankees Victorious at Cleveland, 7-2
|
New York (A) picked up a win at League Park, bumping off the Cleveland Guardians, 7-2. Pitcher Turk Farrell was a major reason the Yankees emerged victorious. Farrell got the win, improving to 11-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. New York (A) is now 63-66, Cleveland 64-65.
New York (A) used a well-timed hit by Barney McCosky to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Farrell.
