Diaz, Mets March to 13-2 Victory
The New York (N) Mets buried the St. Louis Cardinals, 13-2, under a barrage of hits. Argenis Diaz led the onslaught, going 3-for-5 for New York (N). New York (N) starter Nabil Crismatt was credited with the win after throwing 109 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-5. New York (N) goes to 83-36. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.

With New York (N) leading 8-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Diaz came up to bat against St. Louis pitcher Ed Fallenstein. Diaz hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Mets on top, 11-2.
