|
Miami Marlins starter Steve McCatty was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Montreal Expos, 5-3. McCatty, the winner, moves to 5-13. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Ben Blomdahl notched his 3rd save in 6 chances.
The Marlins got a big at-bat from left fielder Desmond Jennings. For the game, Jennings was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Miami a 2-1 lead.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Jennings said in reaction to the win.
The victory makes Miami 41-78.
