Bass Heroics Not Enough in 10-7 Loss to Baltimore
|
Texas got a terrific game from right fielder Kevin Bass. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Baltimore, 10-7. Bass went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Waldis Joaquin notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-3. Baltimore's record now stands at 62-58, placing them 4th in the American League.
In the top of the second, Baltimore right fielder Dick Porter had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Porter stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Baltimore. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Porter.
