The New York (N) Mets and starting pitcher Don Drysdale stifled the Milwaukee offense en route to a comfortable 12-2 win at Miller County Field. The first-place Mets, at 80-34, now lead their division by 6½ games.

Frank Robinson hit a 2-run double off Vern Olsen in the top of the first, which put the Mets in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Robinson had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.

"Don is a gamer," said New York (N) manager Jamie Dagostini.
