St. Louis Loses Again, 5-1
|
The New York (A) Yankees topped the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-1, with designated hitter Nolan Reimold playing a big role. Reimold went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Yankees in the win. Sean Marshall recorded the save, making him 5 for 11. St. Louis has now lost 8 straight.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Reimold hit a 2-run home run off Chris George. It propelled the Yankees into the lead, 2-0.
"We're not winning games right now," said St. Louis manager David Mandel. "But I'm not going to denigrate the effort by the guys."
