Romano, Brewers Too Much for Cardinals
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-7, at Miller County Field. Johnny Romano, who led the AL in slugging percentage with .662 in 1998, starred for Milwaukee. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Milwaukee elevates its record to 8-3.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Brewers grabbed the lead when Romano hit his 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Kevin Morton made it 8-7, Milwaukee.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Romano told the Milwaukee Chronicle. "Whatever it takes."
