The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a win at Chase Field, knocking off the Texas Rangers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Matt Young was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Young, now 10-6. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. The Diamondbacks have now won 4 straight.

Arizona second baseman Whitey Wietelmann contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 44th hit of the season and put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-0.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Arizona manager Alex Baxter.
