Detroit Shuts Out Milwaukee, 7-0
|
The Milwaukee Brewers were almost helpless in their 7-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers and hurler Carl Hubbell. Hubbell kept the Brewers confused all game, spinning a 8-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Hubbell," Milwaukee manager Mike Ejercito said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 33-year-old left-hander had no walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Hubbell said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
In 19 starts this season, Hubbell has registered a 12-4 record and a 2.66 ERA.
