Texas Beats Cleveland, 5-1
|
Hector Noesi brought his A-game to help Texas defeat the Cleveland Guardians, 5-1. Noesi, now 6-9, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Texas, at 43-62, occupies 8th place in the American League.
Eric Davis, who finished 3rd in the AL in stolen bases with 39 last year, took Cleveland hurler Zach Davies deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Rangers on top, 2-1. In all, Davis had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Davis told a Texas News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
