Milwaukee Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
Kevin Ritz, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1996 draft, never let the Brewers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Yankees to a win, 4-0. The 9th-place Brewers dropped to 38-65.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Dave Von Ohlen didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Milwaukee trailing 2-0, Von Ohlen retired Shanty Hogan to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Von Ohlen, with a wink.
