Down Goes St. Louis, 4-1
The Philadelphia Phillies went home winners at Busch Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Jose Rijo. Rijo stifled the St. Louis Cardinals, enabling Philadelphia to grab the 4-1 win. The Phillies now own a record of 53-49.

Philadelphia won the game in part because of Luis Rivas. The second baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 2-1. For the game, Rivas had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Jose's as tough as he is talented," said Philadelphia manager Jason Spiegel.
