The Montreal Expos got a stellar effort from pitcher Dave Boswell, helping Montreal score a win over the visiting Colorado Rockies, 4-2. Montreal reliever Jonathan Broxton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Luis Ayala absorbed the loss. Rex Brothers got the save, the 4th for him this season.

Montreal took a 3-2 lead on Brett Gardner's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Gardner hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Colorado pitcher Luis Ayala visibly frustrated.

"I'm happy we won," said Boswell. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."

The win hiked the Montreal record to 62-38.
