Silverbacks Ace, Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Monday, October 16th , 2000 Oxnard ace Don Sutton put up some sensational stats for the 2000 season and has been voted the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Year Award winner. The 33-year-old Silverbacks star made 29 starts and racked up a 18-3 record. He pitched 178.1 innings, collected 151 strikeouts, gave up 62 walks and 140 hits in holding the opposition to a .216 batting average. He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jesse Jefferson of the Glendale Herons finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Wade Miley of the Kattegat Val'kyr finished third.
