SL2 Player of the Week Chosen Monday, September 11th , 2000 Gene Corbett is respected by most Lansing Lugnuts fans for his no-frills style of play. The 25-year-old first baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Sub League 2 Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .423 average (11-for-26) with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs and 6 runs scored. This year, Corbett is hitting .305 with 32 hits, 8 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 16 runs. |
