Huson Slams 3 Deep for Huntington Beach
Saturday, August 5th , 2000
Whatever Jeff Huson ate for breakfast before his game against the Raleigh Sox, it gave him some impressive power.
The Huntington Beach second baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Phoenix Field. His home run barrage helped the Phoenix defeat the Sox, 8-1.
"When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 6 and put on a display that history will remember.
Jeff Huson flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Andre Jackson in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Andre Jackson in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Babe Birrer in the 8th.
Looking at his stats this year, Huson has compiled a .306 batting average, while hitting 13 home runs and driving in 46 runs. He has played in 100 games and scored 62 runs.
