Schurr Takes Charge, Blanks Tulsa, 5-0 Wednesday, July 19th , 2000 In a seemingly effortless performance, Wayne Schurr of the Lansing Lugnuts shot down the Tulsa Swordfish, 5-0, on 8 hits. "Wayne was just locating so well and using his pitches," Lansing manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Schurr recorded 4 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Tulsa manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him." This season, Schurr has compiled a 8-3 record with a 2.70 ERA in 15 starts. |
