Tanner Wins SL1 Player of the Week Honors Monday, July 17th , 2000 Garland fans have something to crow about today as Garland left fielder Chuck Tanner nabbed the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Tanner. He posted a .385 average (5-for-13) this past week with 3 home runs, 7 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Tanner on the season is hitting .284 with 16 home runs. His stats include 58 RBIs and 47 runs scored. |
