Pioneers Pitching Ravaged by Quinn
Thursday, June 8th , 2000
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Roman Quinn -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Honolulu Stadium and paced the 11-4 Herons win over the Honolulu Pioneers.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Glendale left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Roman Quinn singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Marv Breuer in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
For the season, Quinn has hit .253 with 8 home runs and 27 RBIs. He has played in 53 games and scored 38 times.
