Brewers Win League Championship Series
Thursday, October 19th , 2000
Milwaukee Brewers won a nail-biting series against the Detroit Tigers 4-3, wrapping up the League Championship Series finale 8-7 at Miller County Field.
Brewers left fielder Dale Murphy was named the series MVP.
He batted .393, drove in 7 runs and scored 6 to lead Milwaukee into the next round of play.
"Dale was real solid for us, real solid," said Brewers manager Mike Ejercito. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."
The Milwaukee Brewers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York (N) Mets - Chicago (N) Cubs series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes..
