New York (N) Moves on to League Championship Series
Tuesday, October 10th , 2000
The championship aspirations of the New York (N) Mets are still alive and well, while the Philadelphia Phillies are left to wait until next year.

New York (N) won the clinching game of the Divisional Series 7-5 over Philadelphia at Veterans Stadium, to win the series 4-1.

"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said left fielder Frank Robinson, who paced the New York (N) offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."

Robinson claimed the MVP by racking up 7 hits for a .412 average, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 7 runs.

The New York (N) Mets will play against the Chicago (N) Cubs in the next round. Chicago (N) won their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks 4 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
