AL Starter of the Month Goes to Hermanson Sunday, October 1st , 2000 When the Mariners skipper wrote Hermanson on the lineup card, it was a bad omen for the opposition. Outing after outing in September he took command and usually got the win. He dominated with a 4-0 mark and 2.80 ERA in 5 starts. The gifted Mariners star pitched 35.1 innings, fanned 21 and held opposing teams to a .224 average. For his excellent mound work Hermanson was named the AL Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. This year, Hermanson has recorded a 9-4 mark. In 17 starts he has fanned 89 batters in 133.1 innings with a 4.72 ERA. |
