Bonura Put in Cooler, Hitless Against St. Louis

Zeke Bonura of the New York (N) Mets came up empty at the plate and went hitless in 1 at-bat for the first time in 20 games. Making matters even worse for the first baseman, New York (N) dropped the game to the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-7.
"It was not a good day today," Bonura told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over."
This season, Bonura has posted a batting average of .298 with 147 hits in 494 at-bats, 16 home runs and 107 RBIs. He has also scored 78 runs, walked 49 times and compiled a .361 OBP.
