Milwaukee Brewers Clinch First in American League Saturday, September 30th , 2000 For the 4th time in franchise history, the Milwaukee Brewers are champions of the American League. It was all triumphant shouts and high-fives in the Milwaukee clubhouse when the clinch became official, with much optimism about the club's chances in the playoffs. "From the start of spring training this is where you envision yourself being," said left fielder Dale Murphy. "Playing for a chance to win the World Series is what it's all about and we think we're going to get it done." The club currently has a 102-57 and will be looking to capture the 3rd World Series championship in franchise history. |
