Minnesota Eliminated from Playoff Contention Wednesday, September 27th , 2000 Fans in Minnesota may been holding onto a glimmer of hope, but that has now been officially snuffed out -- the Twins were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. "It's a tough day for everyone in the Minnesota Twins organization," owner Mike Beasley told reporters. "We will just have to come back stronger." Before this season, the Twins last missed the playoffs in 1994. In the 21 years they have been a Fellowship of Respect and Trust franchise, they have made the playoffs 12 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Twins have only missed the playoffs once. Minnesota has won the World Series 4 times in their history. |
