Philadelphia Captures Wild Card Tuesday, September 26th , 2000 The Philadelphia Phillies have secured a berth in the Fellowship of Respect and Trust playoffs. The club officially claimed a wild card position today, on the strength of their 88-68 record. "Obviously we would have liked to have won the National League, but we're still proud of our accomplishment," said second baseman Ketel Marte. The club will be vying for their franchise's 1st championship when the playoffs get underway. |
